Taft School of Skydive has been around since the early 1960’s. In 1996 Skydive Taft was reopened at the county airport in Taft where some of the first records in skydiving were set. Dave Chrouch, the new owner, has over 10,000 skydives and 19 years in the sport, winning a gold medal for his camera flying at the World Freestyle Meet and a silver at the Perris Challenge Cup.

Dave has also competed in the X Games and has been featured on Hard Copy, Real TV, and filmed many movie and TV stars, such as Alec Baldwin, and Malcolm Warner. Dave also filmed a skydiving episode for the Jenny McCarthy show which aired on MTV.

Skydive Taft is located in the beautiful San Joaquin Valley at the Taft Airport, within walking distance of food and lodging. Taft has some of the best weather for skydiving in the country. We also have a large air-conditioned and heated building with a covered patio and barbecue area complete with misters to keep you cool in the hot summer months.

Skydive Taft will supply you with the latest state-of-the-art equipment ram-air (square steerable), main and reserve parachutes, equipped with automatic openers, and the best maintained aircraft in the country, including two 182 Cessnas and a Cessna Caravan.

As a member of the U.S.P.A. (United States Parachute Association), Skydive Taft has an excellent student program which follows all U.S.P.A. regulations and guidelines for training students. Skydive Taft has not only the most experienced staff in the country, but also upholds an excellent safety record. All of our jumpmasters are certified and licensed by the U.S.P.A. and many have participated in world record attempts, such as The X Games, U.S. National, and most recently, the Women’s World Record Jump For The Cause.

And don’t forget our video department with the best freefall video and photography service available anywhere. Dave Chrouch, an award winning camera flyer, has personally hand-pick and trained the staff, so you can share the thrill of your skydive with your family and friends.
